Privacy policy
Effective 8 November 2026
Shorts Uploader is a personal tool that runs only on its owner's own computer and uploads the owner's own videos to the owner's own YouTube channels. It is not offered to anyone else.
What it accesses
When the channel owner signs in with Google, Shorts Uploader asks for these permissions and uses them only as described:
- Upload videos to YouTube (
youtube.upload): to upload a video the owner chose, with the title, description, tags and privacy setting the owner approved. - View the YouTube account (
youtube.readonly): to show the name of the signed-in channel before each upload, and to check whether an uploaded video has finished processing. - Email address (
openid, email): to show which Google account a sign-in belongs to.
It does not read, change or delete existing videos, comments, playlists, subscribers or channel settings.
Where the data is kept
The Google sign-in token, the channel's name and ID and the account's email address are stored only on the owner's computer, in a private folder in the owner's user profile. Shorts Uploader has no server or database. It sends data only to Google's APIs, to do the uploads and checks above.
Sharing
No data is sold, shared, or used for advertising or analytics. No cookies or tracking are used, by the tool or by this website.
Google API Services
Shorts Uploader's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. It uses YouTube API Services; by using it you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies.
Keeping and deleting data
The sign-in stays on the owner's computer until it is removed. To remove it, delete the local sign-in or revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions (choose "Shorts Uploader", then "Delete all connections"). Videos that were uploaded stay on YouTube under the owner's channel until the owner removes them in YouTube Studio.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page is updated and the date above changes.
